Sunny days, fresh linens

When you have nowhere to string a clothesline in the backyard or even erect one of the square, removable ones, it leaves a person pining for the fresh scent of sun dried linens.
Thank heavens for Lee Valley and their wall mount expanding clothesline that has allowed me to experience this gratifying part of life again.

My husband hung it on the wall just outside the back door.  It faces east so only gets the morning sun and then a dappled effect as seen here but it doesn't take long for things to dry and a little breeze always helps.
The stainless steel rods don't hold a lot of laundry, but, oh the fresh smell of everything when I bring them back in the house.
I'm linking with Karen at My Little Home and Garden for Sunlit Sunday.

Hi, Judith
I didn't know such a thing existed. I, too, love the scent of fresh sheets off the line. I used to have one of the old fashioned clotheslines, until the ancient, exceedingly tall wooden pole started to creak one day, creaked some more, and then slowly fell to earth. It's the umbrella style these days! I really appreciate you linking up your post with Sunlit Sunday.

I hand clothes to dry also on a line on the side of my patio, but it gets morning sun only as does yours. I even hang things to dry in the house over Winter.

What a sweet solution that must be. There are lots of applications for such a system. I'd love one!

My friend Beth has had trouble leaving comments at my site and also at yours... here is a portion of her e-mail to me... mine was on embedded so I switched to a different choice and am waiting to see if this helps... just for your info... Larry

Hi Larry,

When I click to leave a comment on your blog (and also Judith's blog: http://lavendercottagegardening.blogspot.com), I get a white screen. I never get to the comment form. This has been happening for a few days.

I researched the blogger helps forum, and here is what may be causing this issue: on settings page, for comment for placement, if you choose embedded below post, some may not be able to leave comments - could use full page or popup instead.

Now, I am NOT trying to tell you what settings to use on your blog. Just wanted to let you know I cannot comment, and perhaps this is happening with others too.

I'll have to check this out. I have a wooden drying rack (folds flat and then extends) which we call a clothes horse in England and will carry that outside onto the deck in winter just to get that lovely fresh scent. This extendable one looks like it will make that task easier.

Hi,Judith.
I have had trouble leaving comment on your post since yesterday. I do not know what happened with my PC. Although I still have the same trouble with another blog friend, I am so glad to contact with you now! Thank you for introducing that wonderful tool! Do you think I can find that one in Japan? I live with my mother in law.
She would be happy if she gets that one as her own space for hunging things is long but not enough wide.

I love the smell of laundry after being dried outside. I have seen different kinds of these drying racks and really need to get one.

Is there anything nicer than getting into a bed that's just been made up with line-dried sheets? Perhaps the top of a baby's head, but I'm not sure. It's been to wet to dry anything outside here, but the first dry and windy day, I'll be stripping the bed whether it needs it or not!

Absolutely nothing better than linens dried outside. Fresh and clean! YUM!

This is a wonderful, wonderful thing! I'm going to check it out for my porch!

Hi Judith, what a wonderful piece of hardware! I sometimes take things out for a sunning by throwing them over a patio chair. I to love the fresh scent of clothes dried outside. I thought I was the only one who still enjoys doing this.
