We had our first Celtic Festival this year at the park by the lake.
A piper taking a moment to relax.Setting up for one of the highland games.
Historical displays.
There were a number of pipe bands, Scottish and Irish dancing, weaponry displays British baked goods and traditional dishes to eat.

What fun that would be to go to. Some of their traditions are the best.

Why is it that my eyes go right to the tarts on the table? How nice to have a taste of Ireland at the lake. Valerie
Hello Judith, It looks like you had a fun day. We enjoyed the flavour of Scotland a couple of weeks ago when we watched the Edinburgh Tattoo and like you, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Best Wishes Daphne
I've always got a goal to go to the Scottish highland festival each year but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe this year. It is a two or more hour drive.
That looks like fun! I love hearing the bagpipes. There is a huge Highland Games Festival in Fredericton every summer and I haven't been to one! Pretty sad don't you think? One of these years I will make the effort. Have a great week Judith.
This looks like fun, Judith! I hope you had a good time. Have a wonderful week!
Blessings and hugs,Beth
OMG, this sounds so interesting. Looks like so much fun. Hugs...Lu
What great fun!
Looks like you had a good festival. There is a huge highland festival near here every year but we always seem to have something else happening that we can't go. British baking is so good, I always visit the bake shops when I got home! ;o)
What a wonderful festival! I always enjoy all of the Fall festivals and look forward to them every year! Hugs!
Now that looks like a fun day. I'm hoping that those gals all are wearing wigs; otherwise, their mothers must have been busy for hours. I love the sound of a bagpipe and would have enjoyed hearing the band play.
It is fun to go to this kind of festival. Thanks for sharing.

A beautiful mosaic. We have a celtic fair in March. I love them.
I love bagpipe music. My Uncle was Scottish and they played the pipes at his funeral. So stirring. Have a wonderful week and thank you for stopping by my blog today.
Judith,
Thanks for coming by. How fun that you were able to go to a Celtic festival. I love your photos and I love men in kilts.

What a fun event. My daughter-in-law's mother was born in Scotland [and her brothers still live there]. When my son and daughter-in-law got married, they had bag pipers at their wedding. This post brought back memories!
Fun times!
That must be a beautiul and fun event. LOvely
Hello,Judith.
The Scottish festival looks like fun. It is very interesting to know about the festival with men wearing checked skirts for the festival.
I am fine,Judith.

What a fun event. I love that kilted piper resting against the table. I would imagine that piping is hard work!
What great photos! Now you've got me hankering for the Highland Games that come to my area in the fall!
This looks like such a fun event, Judith! So many people can claim Scottish ancestry that these games hold much appeal. I attended one Highland Games in the Outer Hebrides and it was a bit quaint but also so enjoyable.
Hope you're having a lovely weekend.
