A February Tea

The February-born shall find
Sincerity and peace of mind,
Freedom from passion and from care,
If they an amethyst will wear.
~Unknown~
Welcome friends for tea this week as we pay tribute to the colour and flowers for the month of February.  Since my birthday is this month, I have always had a fondness for amethyst, my birthstone, and violets, the flower for February.
Violets symbolize faithfulness, humility and chastity.
Previous birthday gifts from my husband, an amethyst ring and tear drop necklace.
Regular visitors to my blog know how much I like everything lavender.
This vase of dried lavender wands normally graces my tea cart but is part of the tea table today.
I'd like to share some of the lavender tea things I have; the nestled teacups are two different violet patterns.
Vintage linens with lavender can be found throughout the house.
Purple pansies in my teacup planter last spring.
Scarves with bling are trendy right now and this is one of my favourites.
The above scarf is woven and beaded by a local woman who as you can see creates beautiful accessories.
A couple of sweet purple birdies have joined us today.
I didn't bake anything for tea this week but wish visions of sweetness to each of you as I declare the chocolate ganache torte from Milestones absolutely the best a birthday gal could have.
In my last post I questioned the pros and cons of the Followers Gadget.  I plan to keep mine and want to say how much I appreciate the bloggers who have been following me for some time and welcome the new ones.  I realize this gadget is a positive connection between all of us.

You have such pretty jewelry, Judith. I had admired the turquoise and silver in a previous post, and now the amethyst pieces. It's interesting how lavender has become your "signature" colour; a fine choice!

Since my sister's birthday is in February I knew the amethyst was her birthstone, but I did not realize the violet was her flower. Thanks to you, I will always remember this for you February-born babies! And oh my, what a completely gorgeous collection of lavender wares you do have. I also love your gifts from hubby--beautiful!
