Happy Birthday and a Giveaway

When I posted about amethyst and violets for a February tea this past week, special to me because my birthday is in February, the comments I received were kind and inspiring.  Gayle invited me to her blog to see the purple cake she had made and I thought, why don't I make one too?
So, I set about to make a birthday cake for a couple of bloggers who who share this month.  Kitty and I are only a day apart and I'm not sure about Vee's date.
The cake is yellow, a recipe I use for cupcakes and the frosting, a lavender cream cheese.

It is delicious, along with a cup of tea on the side.  Happy Birthday to us!
A birthday giveaway sounded like a good idea and I pulled out a book that I can part with that British and tea lovers would like.
 The front.
 The back
A couple of pages in between.
I make my own greeting cards and have 2 of these stamps, so one is part of the giveaway.

A journal showing friends having tea on the cover.
A packet of crystal soil bolls.  These little bolls when soaked in water become larger and jell-like.
Here's a few in a dish I found on the web.  They're perfect for keeping fresh flowers in a vase hydrated and make a clear vase pretty.  Complete instructions will be enclosed with them.  Sometimes you see them scented in apothecary jars in stores and as they shrink, they can be rehydrated again to last forever basically.
Just a few things for a February giveaway.  Anyone can enter, it would be nice if you are a follower.  If the items above are of interest to you, leave a comment saying you'd like to win.
I'll draw the winner on February 28.

WOW your cake looks super yummy- how thoughtful of you.

I just feel so connected - knowing Kitty, Vee and you- such a special thing.

As for your giveaway I would LOVE to win it..I read a book about Paul and Princess Di a long time ago and found him fascinating...but not as awesome is Di herself!

I think all the items are GREAT!

I used clear jelly balls over Christmas in a long vase with cut evergreen boughs and it lasted he entire season, in fact it was way past Christmas when I had to just put them outside, it was time for Valentine decor, haa.

Wonderful give away. Now if I was to win I would love the tea stamp, and I would re-gift it to my daughter, also a tea lover, and maker of cards.

Hello fellow Canadian blogger/gardner/freelance writer/tea lover! I live on the West Coast so our winter isn't as bad, just relentless rain! Well, having said that, the sun just did actually peek thru the clouds just now. (Apparently it won’t last) I know how you feel (last post about beautiful white flowers); I’m dying to get out in my garden too. Happy birthday to you, you Feb baby, I’ve got one myself, my middle daughter. Feb people are lovely. I’m glad I found your blog, thru Vee I think. I’m off now to go read some more posts. :)

You made a lovely job of the cake,it's so pretty. I am going to attempt a cake I found on Pinterest which is chocolate and has Kit kats all around the outside. It has little pink pigs playing in the chocolate on top (don't think i'll put the pigs on though) as it is for my grandsons 18th Birthday. Nice to try something different.
I love your give away gifts,I would love to win, that is if you post to Australia. If not I understand. Postage is so expensive these days.
