Sunlit Church

As I was leaving church a couple of weeks ago, I noticed the sun shining on the side of the building so took out my point and shoot and took a photo.  The other side looked nice in the sunlight too where you can see the sign which says Lefroy United Church.  Lefroy is one of the villages that make up our rural town.
I hadn't noticed there was a patch in the metal roof before - a little character maybe?
The church was built in 1902.
I'm linking with Karen at My Little Home and Garden for Sunlit Sunday.

Your church is beautiful. I love the stone foundation, the brick and the gorgeous windows. The old churches have such character; it seems that many of the new church buildings in our area are metal buildings - no character there, not like the brick or wooden structures.

Those windows have a Gothic look. (Would you love to see a different roof on this wonderful building? I would. Something that complements the architecture would be lovely. It's not easy to maintain a church as so many are in decline. There are two churches in town that have closed because the membership got too old to sustain the church. It saddens me.)

Oh Judith, that is your church? It is so precious! It looks like a period movie church for sure, how quaint.

I am so glad you shared. I will imagine your worshipping there now.

I need to take a pic of our HUGE church and show you one day.

That is a beautiful church, Judith. It looks so solid with the stone foundation and brick walls. The shape of the windows is lovely too.

A lot of life's special moments would have occurred there since 1902.
Thank you for linking to "Sunlit Sunday".

What a charming building, Judith, peaceful and lovely. It must look beautiful inside, too, with the sunlight streaming in those wonderful windows.

I shall think of you there tomorrow.

Great shot- the sky is rich with color and the church looks rather grand standing there! I like the windows and the old stone foundation. The metal roof will keep her strong! The patch is a wink!

Hi,Judith!
This is a really beautiful old church. The color and shape is special for me as it is very different style from buildings in Japan. I like those windows. Also the blue sky and the snow capture my eyes!

It is still cold here but spring is knocking on my garden every day!

What a charming church you have! LOVE the architecture of those windows! (And as always, am quite jealous of the snow, since all we got last weekend was a few swirls of light snowflakes. No accumulation at all, no snow day, sigh ...)
